I am grateful to live, raise my family, and enjoy the wonders of the island of Newfoundland, the ancestral homelands of the Beothuk and Mi’kmaq. I recognize the enduring presence, histories, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples.

As FORGE’s work reaches communities across Canada, we recognize that every place carries its own Indigenous histories, relationships, and responsibilities. We are committed to learning about and acknowledging the Indigenous Peoples and territories connected to each community in which we work, and to approaching those relationships with respect, humility, and a willingness to listen and learn.
